The 8 characteristics of a disciple were developed by the Elder Board at Cityview Church. The goal was to answer the question,"What characteristics mark a disciple of Jesus?" Of course, there are many, but these rose to the surface as the most important.
The aim is not behavior modification or a check list. The aim is Christ-likeness. The center of the 8 characteristics is intimacy, because all 8 characteristics should be the outflow of an intimate relationship with Jesus.
It is our goal to weave the 8 characteristics into the preaching at Cityview and for all those who desire to follow Jesus to walk out those characteristics in a Life Group setting.
